Laois, starting at 2:00pm . I would ask all members to make the effort to attend this meeting and I would also like to extend a welcome to anyone interested in taking up the craft of stickmaking to join us on the day . The agenda will consist of Chairmans’ report , Treasurers’ report , and Secretarys’ report followed by the election of officers for the coming year , and any other business . Mr John O’ Gorman of Southern Stickmaking Supplies will be in attendance with an array of materials for stickmakers .We have had a very busy year with workshops , demonstrations , and competitions across the country and there will be a lot to discuss on the day . I would like to extend congratulations to all our members who took part in and excelled themselves in stick competitions around the country and all those who participated regardless of winning or losing in their efforts to promote our Club and the craft . A big thank you is due to our friend and fellow member David Walsh who, while running his stand at the National ploughing Championships in Wexford was invited to speak on National radio about Stickmaking by Ryan Tubridy fron 2fm . David jumped at the opportunity and promoted the craft in such a manner as to have me snowed under with queries of interest in stickmaking ! If anyone is having trouble in contacting us , my e-mail address is clawback07@yahoo.co.uk and I will e-mail you back with any information you might require about our Club . We hope to continue our craftshops and demonstrations next year and if you are interested and think you might have a venue and some friends interested in learning more about stickmaking then don’t hesitate to contact us . It’s now coming into the time of year for cutting sticks and therefore the ideal time to immerse yourself in the art of stickmaking , so go for it ! Robin O’ Reilly Hon’ Sec’ Celtic Stickmakers Club .
